Spectrum is a digital art application created by Unreal Dimension Studios that empowers artists with tools made for illustration, editing and real time collaboration via an intuitive, powerful and efficient, interface, compatible with all devices and available for all platforms. Spectrum is unexclusive, unlimited and available at a one time affordable premium.

What's Your Problem?

Artistic expression is routinely bottlenecked by the very tools and systems designed to facilitate it. Complex, inefficient, and outdated interfaces force artists into unnecessary compromises. Workflows and pipelines are severely fragmented across multiple industry-standard applications and conflicting platforms. Despite its flaws this digital ecosystem demands extortionate subscriptions and charges, and actively subverts user privacy and intellectual property in the process.

What If?

Spectrum features an essential suite of editing and illustration tools, an infinite dynamic canvas and a local network system that makes it possible for multiple artists to draw on different layers of the same canvas at the same time on any device with complete control over their privacy and content without any workflow or pipeline compromises all for just a single modest payout. Making art is often a process of lonely persistence; with Spectrum, it can be rapid and social.

The Radial Puck

Once you open a project, you will find a radial puck which, upon clicking, gives access to all the tools available in Spectrum. Follow it clockwise. In the illustration set, we have the marker (represented by a triangle), the color palette, the smudge tool (represented by a circle), and the eraser (represented by a square). In the editor set, we have layers, an element manipulation toolkit, an insert tool to add text, elements, and images, alongside a host button to share your session with anybody. Completing the circle is the power button, which functions as a secure save and quit toggle.

The Radial Puck Interface

Auto-Docking

If you prefer to access your tools laid out for you, drag the radial puck to the top of the screen. All tools will auto-align along the edges of your viewport. This feature works across all devices and platforms the same way. To restore the radial puck, you can drag the masthead of this new layout to the center of the screen and the elements get contained within the puck once again. It is recommended that you auto-dock your tools, but it depends on your preference and choice.

The Markers

Spectrum provides a curated set of markers for artists, ranging across Sketching, Inking, Coloring and others. These markers have been made to maintain their resolution, keeping up with the artist's finesse with absolute precision. No lag, no latency, no compromises.

Spectrum Markers Interface

Colors

Spectrum features a dedicated color management system. The primary color picker utilizes three distinct sliders for adjusting shade, tint, and your base color. The interface also provides an area color picker, an active eyedropper tool, and a color history queue. If you require an exact match, you can manually input a specific hex code directly.

Colors Interface

Smudge

The smudge tool follows the exact form and texture of your selected marker. It does not erase; it shifts and blends existing colors and texture across the canvas. This process heavily damages the original structure of your artwork. Use with caution.

Smudge Tool Interface

Eraser

The eraser is a destructive, layer-specific tool. Instead of a standard uniform wipe, it adopts the exact grain and texture of your currently selected brush to ensure your erasure paths feel native. It will only destroy pixels on your actively selected layer.

Layers

Our layer management system is simple. You can rename, reorder, control visibility, and adjust opacity. You can use blend modes and masks, as well as merge, duplicate, or delete layers at any time.

Layers Feature UI

Manipulate

The manipulate tool offers a lasso with which you can select portions of your artwork, and then use cut, copy, and paste buttons to extract or duplicate your artwork to new layers. You can move the whole layer or new elements using the move tool, which offers anchors for rotation and scaling. You can disband the anchors by holding down on them to warp your element. The export button allows you to draw a frame and export your artwork as an image, maintaining its resolution.

Manipulate Feature UI

Insert

The insert tool allows you to add text elements which you can scale, rotate, and move around. It comes with assorted fonts, a keyboard, alignment, and styling tools. You can insert shapes which you create using anchors; these geometric forms can serve as frames, icons, or abstract elements. You can also insert images to scale, move, and rotate as reference material or layer content for your artwork.

Insert Feature UI

Studio Network

You can share your session with a scannable code or a link. For other artists to connect to your session, you need to make sure they are on the same network as you are (a shared hotspot, a shared WiFi connection, or an ethernet setup if you're in a studio). That said, guests do not need to have downloaded Spectrum to be a part of your session, but if they have Spectrum, they can create and join any session via the application. Share the magic and co-create, only on Spectrum.

Welcome Home

Upon opening the application you will meet your studio, your new digital workspace. Your projects and project group directories will be created, stored and listed here. You can instantly recategorize, rename, duplicate, or delete any project. It is recommended that you stay organized.
